9/9 – Read Chapter 20: “Writing Definitions” (533-551); Introduce Technical Description Assignment

Week 4
9/14 – ***Before class, choose an object, mechanism, or process that you want to write about in your Technical Description assignment. If possible, bring the object or share a photograph of the object, mechanism, or process to share with the class***
9/16 – Read Chapter 3 “Writing Technical Documents” (41-56); Technical Description terms and why

9/21 – Technical Description First Draft Due. Submit a hard copy for class; Peer Review.
9/23 – Descriptive Writing Workshop

9/29 – Technical Description Final Draft Due; Introduce Digital Portfolio and Self-Assessment Assignment; Work on Portfolio
9/30 – Read selection from Chapter 14: “Writing Memos” (372-374); Introduce Memo Assignment; Memo topics and research strategies
